Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto had a final working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 25). Chairwoman of Commission I, Meutya Hafid, led the meeting, which had the highest attendance rate in recent months.
All factions were present, with 40 members physically attending. This was possibly the highest number in the last few months or even the past year. During the meeting, after each faction delivered their final statements regarding the Defense Cooperation Bills with several countries, Prabowo received a surprise from Nurul Arifin, a member from the Golkar Party faction, who presented him with a bouquet of sunflowers.
Prayers and well-wishes were offered for Prabowo, who is set to be inaugurated as Indonesia’s President for the 2024-2029 term. Members like Nurul Arifin, Rizki Aulia Rahman Natakusumah from the Democratic Party faction, and Muhammad Arwani Thomafi from the United Development Party (PPP) faction expressed their faith in Prabowo’s leadership capabilities and pledged their support for the incoming administration.
The members prayed for success and blessings for Prabowo Subianto as he takes on the role of the President of Indonesia. They expressed their readiness to support the Prabowo-Gibran administration in building and leading Indonesia.
