Toprak Razgatlioglu finised as runner-up in Race 1 of WSBK Australia at Phillip Island on Saturday, following behind Nicolo Bulega. The BMW rider expressed his need for adjustments to his bike’s set-up for the two races on Sunday. Despite Razgatlioglu being able to match Bulega’s speed in the second part of Race 1, the Italian rider managed to open up a gap of about six seconds in the first half. Meanwhile, Toprak was caught in a fierce battle for the second position. He mentioned that Bulega was very strong on the track and raced alone. However, Razgatlioglu saw improvements in his bike’s performance compared to Friday, especially in handling and cornering. He also highlighted how a pit stop turned the race around, helping him secure a one-second advantage over Alvaro Bautista after the pit stop. Starting the race in second position, Razgatlioglu tried to follow Bulega but the Ducati’s straight-line speed allowed them to overtake. After the tire change, he found his rhythm and comfort with the bike, making continuous small adjustments to improve its performance. Much anticipation arose for the next two races to see what unfolds.
